JOB DESCRIPTION
The associate professor’s responsibilities will primarily consist of:
- Research, including publication/academic dissemination
- Research-based teaching, including associated examination
- Leading research team including laboratory technicians and master students
- Managing larger international research and development collaborations
- Obligation to share knowledge with society
- Academic assessments
In considering applications for the associate professorship, the main emphasis will be on the applicant´s ability to document a high level of original scientific work at an international level within the area of applied cancer diagnostics and biomarker research. The position will focus on how to utilize oncofetal chondroitin sulphate as a biomarker for cancer with a specific focus on clinical testing in close collaboration with university hospitals. A proven track record within group management and student supervision is desired. A key part of the work will be to coordinate larger research programs between international teams.

- Research qualifications at the level that can be achieved by satisfactorily completing a period of employment as an assistant professor/postdoc, but may also be obtained in other ways
- Teaching qualifications and pedagogical competencies

Furthermore, we are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist with the following skills and experience:
- You have a PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry or similar
- You are highly experienced in molecular cancer biology and immunology
- Proven experience in single cell analysis, including mRNAseq, microscopy and flow cytometry
- Knowledge in cancer biomarkers for diagnostic use
- You have an active interest in translational research
- Experience in grant application writing and research dissemination
- Experience in management of clinical data and collaboration with hospitals
The associate professor is also required to possess good interpersonal and communicative skills.
