Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
In the consideration of applications for the professorship, the main emphasis will be on the applicant’s ability to document a high level of original scientific work at an international level within the area of Orthopaedic Surgery.
The professor’s responsibilities will primarily consist of:
- Research – The clinical professor is expected to provide research of high international quality, including publication in top international journals and communicating the research in national and international academic networks and to the public through the press and social media. The professor will contribute to the external research funding.
- Research-based teaching, including associated examination - It will be expected that the clinical professor will provide a state-of-the-art pre-graduate education such as lectures, developing learning goals, organize examination and clinical training within children´s orthopaedics with a high academic and didactic standard.
- Research leadership, including guidance and supervision of researchers - The clinical professor contributes – both independently and in collaboration with others – to the development of the department by leading research of international quality. The clinical professor will have excellent collaborative skills and a broad academic network.
- Obligation to share knowledge with the rest of society, including participation in public debate
- Academic assessments
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
To be qualified for a clinical professor position, you will be assessed according to these six overall criteria for recognising merit at the University of Copenhagen: Research, teaching, societal impact, organisational contribution, external funding, and leadership. Furthermore, each applicant must be able to:
- Document a high degree of original academic production at an international level, including considerable contributions to the development of the academic discipline
- Manage research and other management functions, e.g. engage in the university’s external academic activities, as well as knowledge and technology transfer
- Provide research-based teaching
The professor is also required to possess good interpersonal and communicative skills.
