Description:
PERMANENT, PART-TIME
The purpose of this post is to participate in a clinical laboratory service that supports the clinical needs of the patients in cooperation with the Consultant Chemical Pathologist, Laboratory Manger, Chief Medical Scientist, Senior Medical Scientist and Staff Grade Medical Scientists. This post within the Biochemistry Department will report to the Senior and Chief Medical Scientist, Laboratory Manager and Consultant Chemical Pathologist
The successful candidate must:
- Demonstrate evidence of theoretical knowledge and practical skills of Biochemistry.
Demonstrate the ability to work with laboratory automation.
Demonstrate the ability to identify and resolve system failures and anomalies
Demonstrate the ability to evaluate information, solve problems and make effective decisions
Demonstrate knowledge of verification, validation and performance monitoring of laboratory techniques and equipment.
Demonstrate evidence of computer/IT Skills.
Demonstrate evidence of commitment to continuing professional development.
Demonstrate flexibility and openness to change.
Demonstrate an awareness of the safety requirements in a clinical laboratory.
Demonstrate a focus on quality and patient centred service provision.
