JOB SUMMARY

As a 2025 Corporate & Investment Banking – Credit Risk – Full-Time Analyst, the programme starts with a five week training programme in New York. Expert instructors and JPMorgan Chase professionals will deliver a structured programme, including topics such as valuations, accounting, corporate finance, economics, equity capital markets, debt capital markets and risk analysis.
You will build your technical and practical knowledge on-the-job within the Credit Risk department. The team works in partnership with areas of the Commercial, Corporate and Investment Bank and is responsible for assessing client credit strength and approving and managing the firm’s credit risk. This risk (i.e. the risk of default) can relate to underwriting, lending and trading activities, including investment and non-investment grade syndicated loans, acquisition finance, derivatives, foreign exchange and other products. As part of the analyst programme, analysts will be assigned an industry team either in Financial Institutions Group, Corporates or Emerging Market.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing analysis/due diligence on a counterparty/product
  • Monitoring risk sensitivities across team member counterparties and the portfolio as a whole
  • Building financial models
  • Contributing to diagnostic exercises in response to global events
  • Preparing reports to outline recommendations to senior management
  • Assisting in evaluating market moves that could cause losses to the firm.
