Description:
JOB SUMMARY :
Responsible for the aerodynamic analysis and development of new and derivative aircraft across the Company product line using analytic data, wind tunnel data, and flight test data.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE :
- Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering is required
- Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering is preferred
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Ability to work well with teams adaptable to the work environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Ability to program in a structured language. Experience with FORTRAN and Python is highly desirable
- Experience with the collection and reduction of wind tunnel data
- Experience with the development of theoretical aerodynamic models
- Experience with the use of simulation tools to perform trajectory analysis, calculation of aircraft performance, or determining aircraft handling characteristics

Responsibilities:
- The variety of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tasks within the Aerodynamics organization can include internal and external aerodynamic analysis, aerodynamic design, prediction of aircraft loads, performance, and handling qualities.
- Will involve the development of design, analysis, and simulation models and tools using a variety of in house, commercial, and NASA developed computational tools as well as FORTRAN, MATLAB, C , Python and MATHCAD codes on LINUX workstations and PCs.
- Contribute to the development and certification of significant engineering projects.
- Participate in the entire development process, from early advanced design efforts to final certification activity.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines such as Advanced Design, Mass Properties, Flight Controls, Propulsion, Mechanical Systems, Engineering Flight Test, Stress, and Fatigue.
- Apply knowledge of 14 CFR Part 23 and Part 25 regulations to ensure all critical design and certification analyses have been performed.
- Document results in memos and certification reports for transmittal to internal customers and global certification authorities.
