JOB DESCRIPTION

As the digital revolution is applied to the provision of essential services, electrical engineering will play a central role in creating smart infrastructure, helping to deliver better and quicker performance.
The Electromagnetic Compatibility Team is part of the Rail Division and works across the railway disciplines to provide general assurance to projects during their lifecycle. As such, the workload is very diverse and requires a flexible attitude. The team operates a range of simulation tools which are used to predict the performance of traction power systems, as well as high voltage transmission systems. As a specialist team within Mott MacDonald, the EMC Team also supports multidisciplinary projects in the Highway, Defence and Nuclear Divisions, as part of their safe design.
It provides a stimulating environment for bright electrical engineers who are willing to engage with their peers and learn from the variety of projects on the go. Detailed knowledge of Electromagnetics is not essential.

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION

To be eligible for this opportunity, you will have less than 12 months relevant experience (excluding placements) and have a degree (obtained no earlier than 2023) are expected to achieve one of the following degree disciplines:

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electronic & Electrical Engineering
  • Engineering Science specialising in electrical
  • Power Systems Engineering

Please note all of our opportunities require a bachelor’s degree as a minimum, some of our opportunities will also require a master’s degree - this will be reflected in the list of opportunities available in our application form.
In your application you should be able to demonstrate your interest in the role and working at Mott MacDonald through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules, or previous work experience.
