Responsibilities:
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Orthopaedic Surgery Department as a Registrar, where you will be responsible for:
- Provide care to severely injured patients presenting to WCHN as a member of the WCHN Trauma Team, both in the Emergency Department, and during admission, under consultant supervision.
- Assist the WCHN trauma nurse coordinator in Trauma Governance Activities, including preparation of audit data and case presentation for the monthly Trauma M&M.
- Attend outpatient clinics relevant to the field of trauma care, including fracture, burns and rehabilitation.
- Participate in a roster to provide overnight care of ward and ED patients with acute surgical issues requiring assessment by a member of the surgical team.
- Participate in research projects in the field of paediatric or adolescent trauma
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Clinical experience in acute surgical care, including trauma.
- Minimum 3 years satisfactory experience as an intern/resident medical officer/registrar in a recognised teaching hospital.
- Skill in problem solving and decision making at an organisational and individual level.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing a quality service to the patient
