REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educational Background: Pursuit of a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree (3rd, or 4th year) in the following areas: Mathematics, Data/Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering.
  • Work Approval : Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week in Canada , and for 8-month term (2 consecutive semesters) starting Jan 2025
  • Technical Proficiency : Strong programming skills in Python/R, and SQL; experience with data tools like Azure/Databricks/Excel, and visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI; familiarity with machine learning frameworks and statistical modeling.
  • Product Development Skills: Demonstrated ability to build and deploy data products and analytical solutions that drive business value.
  • Adaptability : Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies in a fast-paced environment; ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Attention to Detail : A meticulous approach to ensuring data accuracy and delivering high-quality analytical outputs.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities; excellent communication and presentation skills; strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively both independently and within diverse teams; strong interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist to amplify our data analytics initiatives within the Customer Care and Aftersales organization, specifically within the Quality Team. The ideal candidate will have experience in independently handling complex business data, performing insightful reviews, and generating comprehensive visualizations and outputs that drive strategic decisions. A knack for building innovative data products is highly desirable.
This outstanding cross-functional role provides an opportunity to experience interfacing with global teams, and showcase your strong analytical, programming, visualization, and machine learning skills, to identify key trends and solutions.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Analyze and interpret complex aftersales warranty data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities, translating findings into actionable business insights.
  • Develop tools, dynamic dashboards and reports for stakeholders using advanced visualization tools, ensuring security, clarity, accessibility, and continuity of information across teams.
  • Maintain the highest standards of data accuracy and integrity, implementing best practices for data governance and security.
  • Work independently and collaboratively within diverse teams, demonstrating strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Develop and Maintain project documentation.
  • Support existing Databricks/PowerBI queries and dashboards.
  • Actively support day to day business operations and projects as assigned.
