JOB SUMMARY

Cadw is the Welsh Government’s historic environment service - working for an accessible and well-protected historic environment for Wales.
We conserve Wales’s heritage to the best possible standard and help to sustain the distinctive character of Wales’s landscapes and towns. We are responsible for some of the most significant sites in the world, and we help people understand and care about their place and history – and the place of Wales in the world.
You will be part of a team who carry out statutory responsibilities for the conservation and maintenance of the monuments in our care.
Your role will be to line manage, supervise, organise and lead the work of Cadw’s in-house Craft teams (Cadwraeth Cymru) on site. You will be responsible for the safe, efficient and effective management of Cadwraeth and the maintenance and conservation projects in the programme for their region and ability to travel within a geographical/regional area driving a Welsh Government works vehicle.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must hold relevant trade qualification (relevant NVQ 3 (or equivalent) in a building conservation trade, preferably stone masonry or banker masonry)

TECHNICAL SKILLS

We’ll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:

  • Knowledge and experience of the regulations affecting conservation, health and safety, operational maintenance, construction management and statutory compliance.
