POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Computer Support Specialist, you’ll be the friendly face of our organization, providing top-notch onsite computer support and problem-solving services to our amazing team. Your day-to-day will involve diving into software and hardware issues on workstations, laptops, and network systems, ensuring everything runs smoothly for our users.

  • Installing and configuring software and hardware with ease.
  • Provide orientation and training to users, making sure everyone feels confident and empowered.
  • Develop and implement helpful user aides to streamline processes.
  • Build strong relationships with both internal and external contacts.
  • Perform essential systems maintenance to keep everything running smoothly.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Completion of a two-year diploma course in computer sciences or related discipline at a technical institute or community college, plus sound related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Considerable knowledge of the practices and procedures used in the installation, configuration and operation of computer equipment and software applications as related to the work performed.
  • Sound knowledge of the functions of departments served and their requirements as applied to the work performed.
  • Sound knowledge of communications and local area networks.
  • Sound knowledge of problem definition and solution techniques applicable to work performed.
  • Ability to examine users’ current applications, practices, and needs, and to identify problems and recommend or implement solutions or improvements.
  • Ability to investigate, document, assess and resolve software and hardware problems and to liaise with vendor representatives and superiors on the more complex problems.
  • Ability to evaluate computer software and hardware and make recommendations regarding the acquisition and use of products.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal contacts and to provide advice, information, assistance, and specific applications training to same.Skill in the operation of equipment used in the work.
