Description:

Please be advised that a permanent Deskside Support Technician position is available with an initial work assignment in Edmonton within the IT department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A diploma from a recognized technical institute or post-secondary institution is required or an equivalent combination of experience and industry recognized coursework.
  • CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent.
  • Excellent problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and customer-focused approach.
  • Advanced knowledge of Mac/PC hardware, software and network connections to troubleshoot and provide support in-person and virtually/remotely.
  • Knowledge and familiarity in, but not limited to, Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms; especially for Apple products (desktop and mobile), directory services (i.e., AD, Entra ID), CUPS and Linux based printing systems, email security platforms, etc.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum two (2) to three (3) years’ experience in help desk/deskside support or a similar role.
  • Extensive experience and working knowledge of ticketing systems

Responsibilities:

The Deskside Support Technician is responsible for providing day to day end-user assistance where required; investigating technical issues, answering questions regarding software or hardware, and providing troubleshooting expertise to resolve issues as they arise (in person, by telephone, virtually/remotely) in a timely, professional, and accurate fashion.
This position includes a wide range of tasks and responsibilities including, but not limited to, diagnosing, repairing, installing, maintaining, and upgrading organizational issued hardware, software, equipment and peripherals, while ensuring optimal workstation performance.
