EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

· College diploma or equivalent post-secondary mandatory
· Bachelor of Social Work is preferred.
· Valid Driver’s License is a requirement.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

· Experience working with homelessness, mental health and addictions.
· Must have functional knowledge and understanding of related to homelessness, mental health and addictions.

SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES:

· Thorough knowledge and understanding of and a commitment to anti-racism, anti-oppression and equity.
· Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
· Must have good interpersonal/time management skills
· Good knowledge of community resources

POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY:

To support clients and the day-to-day operations of the residential facility through: - Client admissions and intake processing - Case triaging - Primary support casework - Referral and clerical duties Provide clients with encouragement and access to wrap-around supports that ultimately lead to obtaining and maintaining housing. The work of this position aims to prevent and eliminate youth homelessness while meeting the human needs of vulnerable populations in York Region.
