JUDICIAL APPOINTMENTS COMMISSION – SENIOR HR AND CORPORATE SERVICES MANAGER (SEO)
We’re looking for a Senior HR and Corporate Services Manager to help lead our reasonable adjustment, HR policy, and people initiatives. As an independent public body, the Judicial Appointments Commission is responsible for designing, planning, and running recruitment campaigns to select judges in the courts and tribunals, up to and including the High Court, as well as non-legal tribunal members. With a new recruitment campaign launched every couple of weeks, and statutory responsibilities to make sure we select candidates on merit and through fair and open competition, it’s essential that our processes are robust, inclusive and accessible. That includes making sure we have the right approach to supporting candidates with disabilities and long-term health conditions, as well as ensuring that our HR policies and processes support our managers and staff to deliver a seamless service to applicants.
Our Senior HR and Corporate Services Manager is essential for helping us to achieve that. Reporting to the JAC Head of Corporate Services, they’ll act as our expert on providing suitable adjustments for candidates applying for appointment, helping our exercise teams to deliver a supportive and inclusive application environment. They’ll also work ly with managers across the JAC, helping them to understand and interpret our people policies, and making sure that we develop and deliver people-focused actions that respond to the needs or staff and the commitments in our People Plan.

Responsibilities:
- The key responsibility for this role is to act as the single point of contact and coordinator for all reasonable adjustment requests from candidates applying for our judicial and tribunal roles. The postholder will take the lead on advising our operational selection exercise team on the appropriate adjustments, working ly with all relevant JAC colleagues and stakeholders.
- Reviewing and strengthening our HR policies and processes ensuring that managers and staff understand our policies and providing advice and guidance on the application of those policies and processes.
- Playing a leading role in the delivery of our People Plan commitments, ensuring that momentum on key projects is maintained and actions are delivered effectively.
- Liaising with key internal and external stakeholders on the delivery of HR/People-focused activities across the JAC.
- Leading the JAC’s involvement in the annual Civil Service People Survey – supporting preparation and engagement in the survey, action planning and undertaking analysis of the findings to inform future people activity.
- Workforce reporting – including tracking, reporting on headcount, and managing our business case process for permanent and temporary roles.
- Potential line management responsibilities.
