JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced 2nd Line Support Engineer join our dynamic IT team based in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for delivering high-quality support solutions to support our growing business needs.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience with 2nd line support
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, AD, Exchange, Azure).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with a team-oriented approach.

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) and hybrid environments.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified or VMware Certified Professional

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 2nd line support for complex infrastructure issues, ensuring prompt resolution and
  • minimal disruption to services.
  • Design, implement, and maintain
  • Virtualised environments using Hyper-V and VMware technologies.
  • Manage and optimise Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory and Azure
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal downtime and high availability.
  • Support and monitor system performance, security, and backups.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement infrastructure strategies.
  • Participate in capacity planning, system upgrades, and disaster recovery planning.
