JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced 2nd Line Support Engineer join our dynamic IT team based in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for delivering high-quality support solutions to support our growing business needs.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience with 2nd line support
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, AD, Exchange, Azure).
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with a team-oriented approach.
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) and hybrid environments.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified or VMware Certified Professional
Responsibilities:
- Provide 2nd line support for complex infrastructure issues, ensuring prompt resolution and
- minimal disruption to services.
- Design, implement, and maintain
- Virtualised environments using Hyper-V and VMware technologies.
- Manage and optimise Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory and Azure
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal downtime and high availability.
- Support and monitor system performance, security, and backups.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement infrastructure strategies.
- Participate in capacity planning, system upgrades, and disaster recovery planning.
