2X STATUTORY PLANNING OFFICER
At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners – from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
In your role you will ensure compliance with relevant statutory obligations and legislative requirements on a range of planning assessments, supporting the effective implementation and delivery of infrastructure projects.
The role supports and enables school project teams to deliver high quality fit for purpose learning environments within new schools and upgrades to school assets.
This role will provide advice on state and local government planning policies, regulations and legislation. Your expertise will enable you to effectively engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders to facilitate positive stakeholder engagement which you will achieve through a highly collaborative approach seeing you succeed in building strong working relationships.
You will develop, maintain and review statutory planning processes aligned with best practice planning principles and standards. Your communication skills will see you provide effective advice to teams across the organisation while balancing competing demands and priorities to deliver agreed work assignments within required deadlines.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in urban/regional planning and/or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
