Description:

As a character artist at bulkhead, you’ll be working with our team of character artists to bring personality and life on our multiplayer all out warfare shooter ‘wardogs’.
you will work collaboratively with the lead artist, art director to create characters that meets our technical requirements and high-quality standards.
Our ideal candidate will have experience in full character creation, including realistic anatomies, clothing, and accessories, along with expertise in optimization.

This is an in-studio role, and this is non-negotiable; however, we can offer bespoke relocation packages.

// REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in shipping multiple titles as a character artist.
  • Excellent understanding of anatomy, proportions and posing.
  • A portfolio demonstrating high-quality character work.
  • Experience within unreal engine 4/5.
  • Have an understanding of rigging & skinning.
  • Ability to quickly iterate on designs and build upon existing work to create new directions or variants.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • A strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and constantly improve.

// BONUS SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience using blender.
  • Unreal engine 5 experience in a professional environment.
  • Experience playing multiplayer shooters.

Responsibilities:

  • Create high-fidelity real-time game characters using maya,3ds max, zbrush, substance painter, blender.
  • Ensure all character art assets are optimized for performance and meet technical standards.
  • Contribute to developing character art pipelines, collaborating with other character artists to maintain quality on time and in budget.
  • Work closely with the lead and art director to deliver high quality characters and accessories.
  • Liase with animation and technical art teams to ensure characters are rigged for optimal performance.
  • Produce textures and shaders for your character models.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends and tools.
