Description:
SUMMARY
Operates, regulates, and monitors all Plant equipment in an efficient and safe manner; Responsible for the operation of boilers, generators and the Central Chilled Water Plants; checks and regulates the operation/performance of Plant machinery and equipment to include gas/oil fired boilers, electric motors, fans, pumps, air compressors, pipes, and diesel generators and other related equipment. Carries out all other duties as assigned.
RESPONSABILITIES
- Assists in training of new engineers; performs Plant security & safety checks; assists in the overhaul.
- Testing of Power Plant equipment; maintains and cleans Plant machinery, equipment and building during operations.
- As per applicable regulations and during his hours of work/shifts, must execute required operations and maintain performances of Power Plant machinery & equipment including gas/oil fired boilers, chilled water plant, electric motors, fans, pumps, air compressors, piping. Monitors/adjusts equipment.
- Takes readings; maintains logs; checks combustion level in boiler, proper mixture of fuel and air, and boiler water.
- Tests hot water, temperature & other conditions; operates water conditioning equipment.
- Adjusts chiller plant operation to comply with service quality standards.
- Performs start-up procedure; receives information relevant to previous shift; sets up charts on meters, controls and related systems and records initial readings; starts up and shuts down turbogenerators and boilers when necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
- Authorized to work in Canada;
- Valid (TSSA Certified) 3rd Class Engineering certification;
- Good mechanical compréhension;
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as an operating Stationary Engineer in an industrial setting or a power plant is desired
- A valid standard Driver’s License that permits the operation of a vehicle in Toronto.
