5 TON TRUCK DRIVER

We are looking for a full time reliable, dependable and hardworking individual to be one of our Labourer/Class 5 Driver for our Commercial 5 Ton Truck at our Calgary Branch. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Must hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract and must provide a Claims History Report from previous employer(s) with minimum of 3 years driving history. These requirements are a must.
- General vehicle maintenance and knowledge of minor repairs
- Friendly attitude with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business plans
- Attention to detail and strong drive to do quality work
- Confident to drive in the city and highways in all weather conditions and times of day
- Available to work Monday to Friday. Occasional weekends during the peak season
- Familiar and comfortable with technology tools such as a GPS device
- Enthusiastic team player willing to work towards shared goals
- “Can-do” attitude focused on servicing our customers
- Physically fit and able to lift 100 lbs. +
- Comfortable to work in a warehouse environment
- Self-starter who can work independently
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Skill in establishing priorities and managing workload
- Drive in a safe and courteous manner, observe all commercial carrier and traffic regulations as well as all company procedures and policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
Responsibilities:
- Delivering orders to our residential and commercial customers
- Follow pre-planned routes accurately without deviation from set routing
- Lifting and carrying large heavy products daily
- Preplan loading of trucks, including load securement to allow for safe deliveries
- Safe operation of company vehicles (Commercial 5-ton trucks)
- Addressing customer concerns and issues in person
- Completing pre and post shift duties such as vehicle inspection, van cleaning, general maintenance duties and data entry
- Follow the company safety plan
- Multi-tasking during shifts to ensure all tasks are completed
- Positive communication with shipping office and customer service on order status
