JOB DESCRIPTION

As an Application Support Associate on the 55ip technology team, the mission of this role is to help lead a team of technologists toward supporting next-level solutions that will impact a fast growing business. The ideal candidate for this role has in-depth experience in design of support systems & processes, developing & mentoring a team of engineers and serving client requests. The candidate will employ latest technologies, data management, and security practices in all aspects of application support & monitoring. Critical thinking, clear communication, and collaboration will be key to the success of this role.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES:

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience in related technical field.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of cloud services (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS), Web-based applications and IT infrastructure
  • Advanced skills in monitoring & administering Linux systems. Exposure to Windows based system would be nice to have.

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities:

  • 5-7+ years of profession experience with at least 3 years in Production Support, DevOps, or Site Reliability
  • Working knowledge in one or more general purpose programming languages such as Python, shell scripting
  • Database server monitoring & administering skills, including intermediate-level understanding of SQL.
  • Experience in supporting Web based applications (Nginx, WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, Mule)
  • Understand source control techniques and/or familiar with Git / BitBucket
  • Proficient in technology toolkits as ServiceNow, Jira, Splunk, Monitoring tools like Dynatrace, AWS Cloudwatch, Datadog, Geneos and job scheduling tools like Autosys and Control-M

Responsibilities:

  • Support the application systems and the technologies associated with the daily operations of the business, in a timely manner, ensuring a reliable and scalable production environment.
  • Responsible & accountable for triaging and escalating production issue causing outages.
  • Adhere to processes, company policies, required to deliver high quality services to clients & partners.
