5G SOFTWARE DEVELOPER COOP WINTER 2025
Position: 5G Software Developer Co-op (multiple positions)
Number of positions: 6
Start date: Monday, Jan 6th, 2025
Location: 349 Terry Fox Drive, Ottawa, Ontario. Hybrid, min 3 days in office.
Duration: (months): 8, 12 or 16 are possible
Sections acronyms: BNEW EUIR RP … (Business Unit Networks, Engineering Unit Integrated RAN, RAN Performance development groups in Ottawa)

THE FOLLOWING SKILLS ARE BENEFICIAL, THOUGH YOU DON’T HAVE TO HAVE THEM ALL!
- Software development and debugging skills with an academic background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Working towards completion of a bachelors, masters, or doctoral degree.
- Entering any coop term (1st, 2nd, …).
- Interpersonal skills: Team player, independent, self-starter, organization skills, detail oriented and able to work in a dynamic environment.
- Effective English oral and written communications skills.
- General knowledge of LTE and/or 5G wireless protocols are helpful.
- Concurrent programming languages, Perl, Python, Java, JavaScript, Typescript, Java SpringBoot framework, HTML/CS, C/C++.
- Experience with Linux, Gerrit, Github, Jenkins, Django, and Angular are all assets.
- HTTP & RESTful framework, Database Fundamentals (Hibernate & JPA in our implementation), Kubernetes & Docker.
- These positions are based in Ottawa. We work in a hybrid work model with about three days a week in the office and two working at home, though this can vary somewhat.

The 5G Baseband software development team has multiple positions to fill. They all provide great learning opportunity in 5G wireless technology. There is lots of team support and student peers to work with, and there is plenty of interesting tools exposure too.
The available positions are as follows. It’s also possible that types of work will change over time.
