WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are looking for a highly motivated and results-oriented Process Engineer to join our dynamic team dedicated to recovering rare earth elements in a rare earth metal refinery. You will leverage your extensive experience and contribute significantly to this cutting-edge process, ensuring efficient and responsible extraction of these critical resources for clean energy technologies, electric vehicles, and advanced electronics.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience working in a metallurgical processing environment.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental chemical and physical principles related to critical metal processing (e.g., leaching, precipitation, solvent extraction, electrolysis).
  • Familiarity with sustainability principles and their application in industrial processes.
  • Experience with process modeling software such as SysCAD or other process models.
  • Proficient in scientific software for data analysis and visualization (e.g., Excel, Matlab).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a strong focus on innovation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Optimize extraction and refining processes of rare earth metals to improve recovery, yield, and product quality.
  • Develop mass and energy balance calculations to ensure optimal process performance.
  • Maintain accurate Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Ensure up-to-date documentation and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for process consistency and compliance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to explore and implement cutting-edge technologies in rare earth metal extraction and refining.
  • Test process parameters on laboratory and pilot equipment to evaluate performance and scalability.
  • Develop process simulation models to analyze and optimize rare earth metal extraction and refining processes.
  • Provide proactive technical support to production teams, facilitating the adoption of best practices and innovative solutions.
  • Conduct thorough market and literature research on breakthrough technologies for rare earth metal extraction and refining, driving improvement and innovation.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in rare earth metal extraction and refining processes.
