WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lab Technician to support our laboratory and facilities operations. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining equipment, ensuring a safe and efficient workplace, and assisting with basic mechanical tasks. This position offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment where you can develop practical skills and contribute to overall lab productivity.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree in a technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous hands-on experience in a production, lab, or mechanical setting (co-op or internship experience welcomed).
  • Familiarity with assembling, testing, or troubleshooting equipment in a laboratory setting.
  • Ability to maintain and track chemical inventory, including proper labeling, storage, and handling protocols.
  • Experience performing tests under the guidance of researchers, following established SOPs.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation (Microsoft Excel, Word).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and handle multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and following standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and perform routine checks on lab equipment, ensuring it functions safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct basic preventive and corrective maintenance (e.g., cleaning, filter changes, minor repairs).
  • Assist with day-to-day facilities upkeep, including organization, general repairs, and equipment setup.
  • Report larger maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate department or supervisor.
  • Record operational data and maintenance activities in logs or computer-based tracking systems.
  • Follow established procedures to ensure accurate, consistent record-keeping.
  • Adhere to all lab safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment.
