Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Manager (Level L) to support the 787 Program Factory Field and BSC Site Skill Team based out of North Charleston, South Carolina.
The successful candidate is a leader who is able to support and serve our team members in balance with the goals of the company. They are someone who inspires the team at all levels to collaborate, problem solve and eliminate waste in the system and who is passionate about engagement and accountability. They are also someone who is fulfilled by serving and developing cross functional team members and who is actively engaging in the site, company and community culture.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Cultivates a culture of excellence (effective communication, teaming process, high quality connections, diversity & inclusion, trust & respect, collaboration, clear roles, adaptability, conflict management, accountability etc.) within multiple 787 manufacturing business units
  • Develops and executes integrated site and departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, and objectives regarding our teammates
  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers, and proactively leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, factory support and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of hiring, skill strategy and development
  • Mentors and coach’s leaders and teammates across the site in the art of winning together and personal/professional development
  • Driving and leading talent investment being a sponsor, mentor, and supporting succession planning as well as driving the agenda around diversity and equity
  • Ability to navigate through complexity and ambiguity
  • Ability to lead via influence and work across functions & organizations
  • Business acumen to know when to lead via engagement vs. requirement/policy to ensure safety/quality

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Ability to work any shift based on the needs of the operation
  • 5+ years of experience in and/or supporting aerospace manufacturing and particularly people and talent strategy
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role leading diverse teams, initiatives and projects to meet business objectives, collaborating cross functionally and influencing positive change
  • 3+ years of experience leading and influencing cross-functional teams
  • 3+ years of experience in a role utilizing business acumen and understanding
  • Must be able and willing to travel domestically up to 25% of the time

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 5+ years of experience in a Manufacturing Operations environment, leading teams
  • Forward thinker that can identify key risks and develop a plan to address
  • Relevant Degree in Manufacturing or Operations
  • 3+ years of experience in lean processes and initiatives
