JOB OVERVIEW
Our friendly and experienced team are delighted to invite applications for a highly motivated and committed Band 8a Clinical Psychologist to join the Adult Autism Diagnosis Service in Suffolk (ADSS). ADSS assesses adults aged 18+ across the whole of Suffolk for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It is an exciting time to be joining us as we develop our service alongside nationally changing perceptions and awareness of ASD and collaborate with our colleagues within mental health services as we aim to reshape how ASD is understood and supported. Working alongside a senior clinical psychologist and an MDT with backgrounds in mental health nursing, social work and speech and language therapy the successful applicant will have an opportunity to be part of a team with a wealth of knowledge and experience. We also have experts by experience who we work closely with when developing our services. ADSS is a team who are passionate about the needs of autistic people and are looking for a highly motivated individual who shares our commitment.

Responsibilities:
MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB
Working across Suffolk you will be part of a highly specialist ASD assessment service.
You will be expected to:
- Working as an autonomous highly skilled practitioner carry out specialised assessments of ASD. The team has clinicians trained in both the ADOS and DISCO.
- provide advice and consultation to other clinical staff within the team and with our colleagues within other Trust services.
- contribute and lead formulations taking into account where additional complexities such as mental health, attachment, mild learning disability, or other neurodevelopmental conditions are present.
- Working alongside the senior Clinical Psychologist to be involved in ongoing service development and in shaping service innovations.
- We offer placements to trainees from UEA on a regular basis and the post holder would be expected to clinically supervise and manage the workloads of assistant psychologists and trainee clinical psychologists within the service as required.
- Contribute towards the continuing professional development, training, advising and supporting the Multi-disciplinary team as appropriate.
This post is 0.6 WTE with flexibility around the hours and days worked.
