Responsibilities:

Are you passionate about supporting young adults with autism and learning disabilities? Do you want to work in an organisation rated ’Outstanding’ by the CQC, with multiple BCBAs and RBTs?
Beam ABA Services support individuals diagnosed with autism and learning disability. We support teenagers and young adults in the home and local community. We are currently recruiting for a part-time (2-3 days a week) ABA Consultant in Hertfordshire.
As part of our clinical team, you will oversee assessment, design, and analysis of ABA programmes, working with young people (service users) and their families whilst supporting a team of Behaviour Support Therapists. The role is varied - you will provide direct support to young people with a primary diagnosis of autism and/or learning disability on your caseload, you will train and support team members, you will be the main point of contact for external stakeholders [e.g., parents, schools], and you will lead programme development. We do not believe in giving our Consultants an unsustainable number of cases to manage - we keep caseloads small [4 to 5 cases on average for full-time Consultants, 2 for part-time]. In addition, we do not wish for our Consultants to sit in the office and write reports and protocols - it is important that they work directly in the field in order to be able to best support staff. The session time is from 8:05AM-6/6:30PM from Mon, Wed-Fri, on Tue 8:05AM-8PM and weekend is 8:45AM-4:45PM
You will need an MSc and/or BCBA qualification in ABA, plus practical experience of working with young people with complex behavioural needs. You will work closely with our Senior ABA Consultant, Registered Manager, and Director.
As a small organisation everyone has a role to play and your impact will be felt both by service users and your colleagues. We look for positive, diligent people keen to further themselves and the organisation. You will have opportunities to contribute to the field of ABA by sharing best practice, conference attendance, and running training sessions. BCBA supervision is provided in-house for eligible candidates. Ongoing funding towards CEUs is provided. In addition, as part of our commitment to professional development, we also train our Behaviour Support Therapists to become Registered Behaviour Technicians (RBTs) and provide funding for a number of MSc in ABA places each year.
