Instructor Therapist

TELUS Health Children’s Support offers programs designed to help children reach their full potential. Our multidisciplinary teams offer a range of support including speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or behavioural therapy. The Instructor Therapist provides individualized support tailored to the specific needs of each child.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently conduct 1:1 Behavior Therapy shifts using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Attend and participate in supervision sessions to review child progress and BT work performance with the Treatment Supervisor
  • Collect and record data accurately and efficiently in accordance with policies established by BTS of the province and in compliance with all Governing bodies
  • Communicate clearly and effectively to parents/caregivers

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) or Behavioural Science
  • Experience working with children or teens
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ABA principles, practices, and procedures
  • Sound clinical and professional judgement consistent with accepted models of practice, with demonstrated ability to plan, organize and prioritize workload and adapt to a changing caseload
  • Previous in-clinic experience working with a pediatric population is preferred
  • Available 2 to 3 days/week including Saturdays
