REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree, Family Development Credential or Associate’s Degree required.
- Bilingual and able to write and speak Spanish fluently.
- Experience working with preschool children, families and extensive knowledge of community resources in New Brunswick/Middlesex County.
Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Center Director, the Family Worker is responsible for providing case management services to families
- Establish healthy positive relationships with parents and children, conducting 3 personal visits per year, maintaining contact with parents to ensure student’s attendance is regular, maintaining student files and ensuring all information is current and up to date.
- Referrals for children with a detected developmental delay or special need, completing follow up to ensure that referral services were obtained, ensure developmental screenings of all children occur annually.
- The Family Worker collaborates with childcare staff, district personnel, and community based social service agencies to develop parent group meetings, trainings, programs, activities, as well as provide information dissemination to promote healthy child development.
- Network successfully with community based & state agencies, flexibility, and excellent administrative and documentation
- Ensures confidentiality of all children and families is respected and up held, serve as the parent advocate where appropriate, and links families with emergency assistance and crisis intervention as needed.
