We have a fantastic opening for an Able Seafarer to join our existing team at HMNB Clyde based in Faslane. The role of the Able Seafarer is to support the Master / Mate in the daily duties of the day-to-day working of the Deck Department on a tug, including maintenance and towage operations.

Our vessels provide a range of support, which include for example: dive support, military training, submarine rescue exercises, target/test equipment deployment/recovery and passenger transfers.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
To work as directed by the Mate in the normal discharge of their tasking’s and duties.
Work with other crew members in completing the planned maintenance, maintenance of vessel fabric and ensuring continued vessel capability.
Watch-keeping and lookout duties.
Assist with risk assessments and COSHH registers.
Liaise and consult with the Operations team as necessary to handle lines.
To fasten or let go from vessels Inc. barges, berths or moorings.
To understand vessel and company systems and procedures.
To carry-out operational checks on equipment which they are expected to use Inc winches, towing gear, FFA and LSA before and during tasks, report deficiencies to the Mate. To assist in the maintenance necessary for proper operation of all equipment, etc.
To implement the oil pollution prevention guidelines when taking bunkers.
To familiarise themselves with all safety equipment onboard and training to ensure highest operational safety standard of the vessel at all times.
To support, take part in and organise as necessary lifesaving / firefighting / anti-pollution drills and all other mandated drills as per IMS.
Any other reasonable task as directed by Ops Manager (Faslane).
