JOB SUMMARY:

The Academic Coach is a pivotal role aimed at advancing the academic success and personal growth of students at AdventHealth University (AHU). Reporting to the Director of Student Academic Support Services, this position proactively oversees the implementation of tailored coaching programs and strategic interventions to foster academic achievement and persistence. This role requires strong collaboration with faculty and staff to ensure seamless access to academic pathways and support services while providing proactive outreach that enables students to achieve their educational goals. A deep commitment to exceptional student support and fostering equitable relationships across the university community is essential in this role.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field and three (3) years teaching, tutoring, and/or requisite higher education experience
• Proficient in interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with a diverse range of students, faculty, and staff
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities, with a proven track record of managing complex projects and meeting deadlines
• High level of self-motivation and initiative, capable of multitasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment

• Provides direct support to students through personalized coaching sessions, focusing on skills such as time management, study strategies, and critical thinking
• Develops and manages initiatives aimed at improving students’ academic skills and personal development, including workshops, seminars, and one-on-one coaching sessions
• Facilitates the development and implementation of academic coaching programs; works with academic departments to tailor coaching to student needs and institutional goals
• Coordinates with faculty and other educational support services to integrate academic coaching within the broader educational framework
• Evaluates the effectiveness of academic coaching strategies and services, recommending enhancements to increase student success and retention
• Monitors and analyzes data on student progress and program effectiveness, preparing detailed reports and action plans for continuous improvement
