Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Associate Dean and working closely with students, Academic Coordinators are professors who, in addition to their teaching responsibilities, provide academic leadership in the coordination of courses and/or programs to ensure curriculum quality, relevance and currency, a positive learning experience for students, and effective communications amongst colleagues to achieve the College’s strategic and operational goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Subject matter expertise in Dental Office Administration and related processes
- Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience in a post-secondary environment preferred
- Experience developing, delivering, and evaluating curricula an asset
- Experience fostering a rich learning environment and creative teaching and evaluation methods, incorporating a variety of teaching methodologies and technologies
- An ability to apply an understanding of diversity and inclusiveness to meet the needs of a diverse staff and student population
- Ability to communicate clearly, articulating program expectations, and responding to faculty and student needs
- A proven ability to work within a collaborative environment, including effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills to provide functional guidance and support to the program team
- Strong organizational ability to balance the coordination of the program, manage one’s own faculty work, and respond to faculty and student needs
- Advanced computer literacy (MS Office Suite, including Teams) and a demonstrated willingness to acquire and use learning tools (such as Loyalist’s LMS)
- A commitment to lifelong learning
