ACADEMIC EMPLOYEE (TAP-FU) TO CENTER FOR TRANSLATIONAL NEUROMEDICINE
Division of Glial Disease and Therapeutics, Center for Translational Neuromedicine, University of Copenhagen is looking for a highly motivated Academic Employee. The position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team engaged in neuroscience research.
DESCRIPTION OF THE CENTER AND THE RESEARCH GROUP
Our center is part of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences of the University of Copenhagen and is located at the Panum Institute. We currently have 55 employees and students. The Center comprises newly constructed laboratories with excellent facilities for neuroscience.
The research focus of the Division of Glial Disease and Therapeutics is on the basic biology of glial cells in the central nervous system, specifically astrocytes, and their role in several neurological and neuropsychiatric diseases, including stroke, spinal cord injury, epilepsy, tremor, ALS, schizophrenia. Sleep disturbances and the sleep-wake regulation of astrocytic calcium signalling are other focus areas of the Division. Our research is aimed at defining new strategies for the treatment of neurological diseases that target astrocytic dysfunction.

The average weekly working hours are 15 hours per week.
