The Pima County Health Department is seeking an Academic Partnership and Internship Coordinator to join our team. This role focuses on strengthening the department’s academic, internship, volunteer, and learning environment in public health. Key responsibilities include building and expanding partnerships with academic institutions, organizing workshops, seminars, and “lunch and learn” sessions that highlight the latest research, practices, and innovations in the field. The coordinator supports experiential learning in public health practice, facilitates mentorship opportunities between department professionals and students, and promotes student-led investigations into public health challenges. Through innovative experiential learning strategies, this role aims to inspire and prepare the future public health workforce.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
(1) Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business administration, public administration, public health, healthcare administration or a related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment AND two years of experience coordinating, monitoring, and/or administering public health program activities or providing administrative support for a program or specialized work unit.
(RELEVANT PROFESSIONAL-LEVEL EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION FROM AN ACCREDITED COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY MAY BE SUBSTITUTED.)

(2) FOUR YEARS OF EXPERIENCE WITH PIMA COUNTY IN PUBLIC HEALTH POLICY ANALYST I, PUBLIC HEALTH EDUCATOR I OR II, PUBLIC HEALTH NAVIGATOR, PUBLIC HEALTH PROGRAM SPECIALIST, OR RELATED PROFESSIONAL ADMINISTRATIVE OR PUBLIC HEALTH PROGRAM CLASSIFICATIONS AS DETERMINED BY THE DEPARTMENT HEAD AT THE TIME OF RECRUITMENT.
