Twice each year, our Academy welcomes a Spring and Fall cohort.
Candidates selected to join the fall cohort, will begin employment in late summer. Interviews are typically scheduled late spring to early summer.

Framatome Nuclear Technology Academy technicians participate in a cohort-based program receiving competitive pay and benefits while earning credit toward a tuition free Associate’s Degree in Nuclear Technology encompassing courses in Machining, Electrical, Welding, Mechatronics, and more. Each semester, technicians alternate between attending classes at Central Virginia Community College and deploying to nuclear sites around the country in support of various business lines.

ALL CANDIDATES MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY:

  • High school diploma or equivalent*
  • Accepted and enrolled at Central Virginia Community College and in good academic standing.
  • Please attach a copy of your unofficial academic transcript as part of your application. Transcripts can be added in the Profile Attachments section (Step 5) of the online application.
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age prior to their employment date.

Responsibilities:

  • Installs, troubleshoots, assembles and disassembles, repairs and maintains tooling and equipment.
  • Conducts a variety of routine field tasks including, but not limited to operating specialized equipment, taking measurements, compiling data, and performing without error in high stress environments.
  • Maintains maintenance logs and certification documentation.
  • Complies with all applicable safety and health rules including personal dose compliance.
  • Works flexible hours and shifts, as required, to ensure timely service.
  • Requires travel to a variety of job sites.
  • Requires unescorted nuclear access (includes background check, and drug screen).
