Description:
SPECIFIC TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Good commercial understanding of air tariffs.
- Strong product knowledge with financial awareness of credit ratings and policies.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
- Ability to prioritise work and make decisions under pressure.
- Maintain a clear audit trail of rates agreed to ensure efficient implementation of any awarded SPOT quotes.
- Attention to detail is paramount.
- Good Quoteshop knowledge.
Responsibilities:
JOB PURPOSE:
The Airfreight Commercial Centre (ACC) provides a range of internal and external services including pricing to our UK branch network, customers and overseas DHL offices. This role is based in the Central Airfreight Spot Pricing (CASP) team where spot quotes are completed on import, export and cross trade opportunities.
MAIN TASK AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Respond to requests for quotations received from internal and external customers.
- Liaise with relevant operation and product departments to ensure competitive pricing.
- Provide a prompt response to the customer and complete the follow up process.
- Recording all quotation details and the customer response.
- Assessing the pricing that will win the business including ad-hoc pricing negotiated and gained from carriers and suppliers.
- Working with operations to ensure a suitable handover for all quote wins.
- Negotiation with customers.
- Developing positive relationships with customers through great service.
- Interact with sales when required on specific opportunities.
- Suggest tactics on pricing so that sales and margin are maximised.
- Ability to work in a team environment but also with the confidence to work and make decisions without referral.
