EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Life Sciences or equivalent
  • Full UK driving license
  • ABPI qualification

EXPERIENCE:

  • Market access experience essential ideally with proven track record of delivering solutions to enhance service capacity
  • Experience of working in Oncology is preferred
  • Proven Track record in successful project scoping, strategic planning & project management
  • Experience of managing complex projects with data protection and patient confidentiality needs
  • Proven experience in demonstrating a proactive and solution-based approach to NHS challenges
  • Experience in pharmaceutical industry (>5yrs) is required, including thorough knowledge of industry code of conduct and relevant legislation for interaction with healthcare professionals and patients
  • Knowledge of the NHS and the relevant customer groups and decision-making unit/policy influencers
  • Strong selling and influencing skills background with good business acumen
  • Evidence of successful working in cross functional teams
  • Ability to collaborate and share information to contribute to strategic plans
  • Experience of designing, developing, and delivering business cases

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Access and Pathway Optimisation Manager, Oncology is a hybrid promotional and non-promotional role sitting in the Oncology Business Unit and responsible for collaborating, engaging, and partnering with NHS stakeholders. The role will positively influence the local and regional NHS Oncology healthcare environment to release NHS capacity challenges, improve patient pathways and improve patient access to Ipsen products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for keeping UpToDate, understanding and translating the ‘so what’ regarding the changing NHS environment to help identify opportunities by proactively engaging with relevant NHS stakeholders in the areas and priority accounts of interest through an understanding of the priorities within their aligned geographical areas and identifying opportunities
  • Build trusted and strategic relationships with decision making units and related stakeholders in the region by understanding their specific needs and priorities. They will priorities and partner with most relevant regional stakeholders, undertaking a customer-led approach to align objectives with those of neuroscience team
  • Primarily be accountable for the strategic account management of regional customer groups; these could include but would not be limited to Integrated Care Systems (ICSs), Primary Care Network (PCN), Cancer Alliance, Rapid Diagnostic Hub etc.
  • Establish and communicate key priorities and drivers for each relevant organisation to enable plans to be built that reflect the needs of the entire health economy
  • Feedback customer insight to local Account Management Team and IBT to help inform and develop local account plans and shape Ipsen’s national strategy
  • Establish close links with UK Policy team to ensure national and regional alignment
  • Agree and implement partnership working
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of NHS Oncology strategies, environment, funding flows and decision-making processes to ensure Ipsen acts as a credible solution-based partner
  • Be seen as an expert in the understanding of NHS Oncology policies, patient pathways, service/operational procedures, strategic intent, and objectives within all countries in the UK that they geographically cover
  • Proactively share insights with the Integrated Business Team (IBT) and other appropriate Ipsen stakeholders
  • Ensure that all projects and communications are appropriate to the intended audience, comply with the ABPI code of practice and Ipsen internal policies, directives, and standard operating procedures, including being approved as necessary
  • Identify, manage, and successfully implement solutions with NHS to drive optimal patient outcomes
  • Lead all patient / treatment pathways tracking activities and collaborate with NHS stakeholders across
  • Secondary and Primary care to deliver capacity efficiency and improved patient experience and patient waiting times
  • Partner with local healthcare Organisations (HCO’s) to deliver a more efficient operation through reducing backlog and increasing capacity
  • Provide consultancy to NHS staff to identify the most tailored solutions to best meet their needs
  • Establish key milestones and KPIs for all projects
  • Introduce processes and controls to effectively set up, manage and control all partnership projects
  • Promote effective cross-functional matrix teamwork with sales, marketing, medical, market access and legal
