Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide coordination, liaison, and referral services which will promote and facilitate access to post-secondary education, training, and community resources support participant success.
  • Initiate and maintain accurate casefiles for each individual student indicating their career goals and any issues or concerns they may have in the learning process.
  • Assist in coordinating participants’ entrance and intake/placement assessments, including orientation to the assessment process and preliminary identification of potential learning barriers.
  • Provides an initial assessment of the nature and extent of student concerns to respond appropriately by providing information, booking an advising appointment or referring student to appropriate college/community services, or arranging immediate assistance for crisis situations.
  • Provide/facilitate access to CNC support services to promote student success; schedule and arrange appointments with counsellor, Aboriginal Advisors, and other CNC support service staff, following up as required.
  • Liaise with groups and individuals to obtain and provide training/education information and academic advising.
  • Assist with goal setting, scheduling, and obtaining career information on an individual and small group basis.
  • Assist students with developing and implementing individual training plans and/or educational plans and when required, appropriate referrals.
  • Provide liaison and advocacy services to facilitate access to community services.
  • Provide coordination, liaison, and services which will assist participants in their transition to the workforce.
  • In collaboration with the program team, assist with coordination, promotion, and liaising with employment partners for student work placements.
  • You will be part of a team actively engaged in contributing to and accomplishing the vision, mission, and goals of the College and in supporting the aspirations and needs of our learners and communities.
  • You will promote a positive work atmosphere and communicating in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect with students and colleagues.
  • Other related duties as assigned by Supervisor or designate
