Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee a large team responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoicing. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions, managing monthly and quarterly business reporting, and overseeing the coordination of staff schedules. This individual will be responsible for leading the accounting team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining financial integrity and compliance with internal policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
- Experience in accounting or finance is preferred, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of AR and AP accounting principles.
- Proficiency with Accpac (Sage 300) or similar accounting software; experience with Excel and other financial tools
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Management:
- Supervise and mentor a large team responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoicing.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement professional development initiatives.
- Coordinate and manage staff vacation schedules to ensure adequate coverage and minimize operational disruptions.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
- Resolve discrepancies and issues related to payments, receivables, and vendor communications.
- Invoicing & Billing:
- Ensure accurate and timely invoicing to clients and customers based on service agreements and contracts.
- Work closely with sales, operations, and other departments to ensure billing accuracy and proper revenue recognition.
- Monthly & Quarterly Reporting:
- Identify trends, and provide insights to senior management to support decision-making.
- Assist with month-end and quarter-end closing processes, ensuring that all financial data is properly recorded and reconciled.
- System & Software Usage:
- Work with Accpac (Sage 300) accounting software for financial transaction management, reporting, and reconciliation.
- Ensure the accurate entry of data into the system and assist with troubleshooting system-related issues as needed.
- Compliance & Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting functions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
