Description:
ACCOUNTABILITIES :
- To establish and implement standards of performance within the accommodation and public areas of the hotel, ensuring all services offered are of the highest 4* quality and all employees are trained in the delivery of same.
- To achieve agreed accommodation budget for the hotel, ensuring that cost of sales is achieved and expenditure controlled at all levels and setting up purchasing specifications as and when required.
- Ensure that all maintenance issued are dealt with in a prompt and cost effective manner, with adherence to maintenance budget.
- To implement and manage an effective system for the control of Linen and ensure adequate stock on site at all times. To ensure such linen is to the standard of a 4star property and anything below this standard is addressed with the linen company. To ensure what has been ordered, is what is delivered and charged for accordingly.
- To carry out effective recruitment of employees within your department, ensuring the right people with the right skills, are in the right place at the right time, controlling labour costs to budget.
- To ensure the department is adequately staffed and that the staff are trained frequently on what is expected within their role within the department and the Hotel.
- To manage labour hours in line with forecast business and the budget. To ensure all information on Timepoint is accurate and correct at the end of each week. Meet weekly with the Financial Controller to discuss labour costs
- To implement and manage an effective operating plan in ensuring all public areas are kept to the standard expected of a four star property. To liaise daily with the Duty Management team as to what actions are being taken to maintain or improve these areas.
- To take responsibility for purchasing all chemicals and cleaning supplies for all departments, and guest supplies for bedrooms, ensuring we obtain the best possible price and quality available
- To obtain quotes and purchase miscellaneous items as directed by the General Manager
- To liaise with and support other HOD’s regarding miscellaneous purchasing in their departments
- To assist in the development of the green team, ensuring team members are educated, the learning is being implemented in each department and that we are complying with GHA criteria
- To actively promote, alongside your Green Team, the benefits of recycling to all employees, whilst enforcing and implementing the hotels recycling systems and standards
- To attend Hotel / Management Meetings as required, ensuring effective communication at all levels.
- To create an environment which promotes employee morale and encourages the Team to have pride and commitment in their area of work.
- To accept ownership, and control of departmental budgets and costs, working with the Hu-man Resources Manager in developing the departmental employees to assume same.
- To appraise and/or assess all employees, within the accommodation services areas, on a regular basis.
- Working with the Human Resources Manager to develop and implement effective training plans for the Department, based on training needs identified.
- To comply with statutory and legal requirements for Health & Safety, Fire, Hygiene, Licensing and Employment, ensuring that members of the Team are trained and aware of these requirements.

To be accountable for all Accommodation and public areas of the hotel, working with the accommodation staff to ensure that the guest rooms and areas are prepared and presented to the agreed highest standards. To ensure that employees are developed in a structured manner; the customers offered the highest quality standards and value for money and the departmental budget is achieved.
