This is a unique opportunity for a bold, customer-oriented, strategic-thinking sales professional to help identify unique prospects and execute Microsoft cloud deals that drive significant publicity, competitive share, and revenue for the Microsoft Azure platform. The primary focus will be on start-ups and ISVs that are transforming key verticals within the Software & Digital Platforms space.

As an Account Executive, Digital Unicorns you will lead and orchestrate the efforts of the One Microsoft team to drive ambitious growth and wins with start-ups and ISVs on the Microsoft Cloud Platform. This senior role will partner closely with resources in the Business Development Organization, WCB, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Business Desk, and other groups across Microsoft.

REQUIRED/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years experience in working in an industry (e.g., Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Energy, Government, Education), driving digital transformation, or other relevant work experience (e.g., consulting, technology)


    • OR Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Technology, or related field AND 5+ years experience working in an industry (e.g., Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Energy, Government, Education), driving digital transformation, or other relevant work experience (e.g., consulting, technology

    • OR Master’s Degree in Business Administration AND 4+ years experience working in an industry (e.g., Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Energy, Government, Education), driving digital transformation, or other relevant work experience (e.g., consulting, technology)
    • OR equivalent experience.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Deep understanding of cloud computing, application hosting, social media and software development (level 200+) is preferred
    • Experience in building long-term commercial agreements that deal with ambiguities and dynamic business changes while minimizing risk
    • 5+ years’ experience spanning complex solution selling, consulting services sales, sales management, corporate strategy.
    • Ability to creatively move difficult deals forward by restructuring the deal and/or finding ‘win-win’ scenarios and ensuring competitive advantage
    • Ability to coordinate with external partners and internal teams, both on the business and technical sides to deliver on strategy
    • Accuracy in providing senior executives with required information, which ensure project visibility and risk mitigation
      Account Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $141,000 - CAD $212,000 per year.

    • Sales Strategy: Proficiency in sales management, sales process, and sales strategy.
    • Technical Knowledge: Deep knowledge of Azure, AWS, and GCP technology stacks, and experience with architecting solutions for open-source technologies/Linux, DevOps, and intelligent cloud-native app

    Responsibilities:

    • Customer Account Management: Own customer account plans, business relationships, and lead on commercials.
    • Pipeline Creation: Develop Microsoft cloud pipeline and pursue opportunities, with a focus on Azure workloads.
    • Engagement Strategy: Create and lead long-term engagement strategies for Unicorn customers.
    • Sales Process Leadership: Lead and support the team in customer engagement and own the sales process.
    • Opportunity Identification: Identify and qualify growth opportunities and engage relevant services or partner resources.
    • C-Suite Interaction: Lead regular meetings and maintain a rhythm with C-Suite within Unicorn customers
