Responsibilities:

ABOUT YOUR ROLE

Join our close-knit Sales team as an Account Manager, servicing our portfolio of manufacturing customers within the Food and Beverage ingredient sector. With our fast growth in New Zealand, we are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual who will accelerate product sales within IXOM’s existing customer base and develop new customers.
Reporting to our Northern Sales Manager, you will work within a supportive and collaborative work environment, in a dynamic role that will ensure no two days are the same.
With offices based in the North and South Island we are flexible with location for the candidate. You can be based in Auckland or Christchurch, with the ability to work hybrid in each island. As this role has a national scope there will be some travel requirements regardless of where you reside.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide responsive account management and outstanding customer intimacy
  • Identify and deliver new business growth within your industry segment
  • Work closely with Product Managers to assist you in identifying, contacting and develop new customers, selling new products and increasing market share
  • Prepare and execute customer action plans to improve profitability and satisfaction
  • Capture market intelligence and competitor information
  • Offer astute insights and advice based on customer needs, to deliver appropriate solutions from our broad range of specialist materials

To succeed in this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualified in Food Technology or technical discipline would be highly regarded
  • Well-honed knowledge in sales acquisition and tailoring solutions for clients
  • Broad knowledge of manufacturing, ideally within the Food & Beverage sector
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build longstanding relationships, negotiate and influence
  • Commercial acumen to truly understand the business development cycle, challenge current processes and offer insights to the product/technical management grou
