Description:

Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping:
Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and trial balances.
Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.
Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements and liaise with external auditors.
Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
Credit Control:
Oversee the company’s credit control function, ensuring that invoices are collected in a timely manner.
Contact clients to chase overdue payments and negotiate repayment terms when necessary.
Monitor customer accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve disputes.
Generate and send regular statements to clients and keep accurate records of communication.
Report on outstanding debts, bad debts, and aging reports to management.
Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to manage credit risk and improve cash flow.
Manage outgoing monies to ensure all information is correct for payment; including but not limited to
· That due dates and formatting are correct.
· That we have invoiced the client for any bills that may affect cash flow.
· Any discrepancies with bills received are dealt with.
· Statements are checked for any missing bills.
Skills & Experience:
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper and Credit Controller, preferably within a small to medium-sized business.
Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Experience with Xero accounting software.
Strong knowledge of credit control practices and techniques.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
High attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £32,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
