SUMMARY

As the Account Specialist, Neuroscience, you will contribute to Ipsen’s overall sales objective by performing assigned sales related activities. Additionally, you will provide physicians, pharmacists and healthcare professionals with products, services, and information that will enable them to prescribe and use Ipsen’s neuroscience products safely and effectively. The incumbent will have strong, demonstrated selling, persuasion and influence skills, key account management experience and excellent cross functional collaboration.
Your territory includes the provinces of Alberta and Manitoba.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE

  • Undergraduate-level post-secondary degree required (B.Sc, B.A., B. Comm)
  • Academic background in science / health sciences is a strong asset.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Pharmaceutical Representative.
  • Experience in neuroscience area is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success selling in competitive environments.
  • Demonstrated success in building strategic partnerships and executing tactical plans.
  • Demonstrated team player.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record are required (no more than three moving violation convictions within the past three years).
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory, including overnight as needed.
  • 10-15% travel outside territory (conferences, internal meetings).

Responsibilities:

The general job responsibilities assigned to the Account Specialist are as follows:

  • Deliver the sales objective for their assigned territory.
  • Develop and execute solid account plans for key centers and annual territory business plan.
  • Establish productive, value-based relationships with physicians in territory and a regular cadence of interactions with all HCPs on target list.
  • Execute the Plan of Action (POA) defined by the Marketing team, while optimizing local territory level dynamics and opportunities
  • Call on appropriate health care professionals (physicians, pharmacists, nurses and allied health professionals) to communicate balanced, accurate and complete information on Ipsen’s products and their appropriate use within approved indications.
  • Leverage approved scientific and clinical data to engage in in-depth conversations with physicians and other healthcare professionals
  • Manage the territory in an efficient and orderly manner, ascribing to principles of key physician/account prioritization, daily call reporting and sample tracking.
  • Identify and partner with Medical Affairs to develop Therapeutic Area Thought Leaders within territory
  • Operate the territory within the assigned expense budget.
  • Complete all required training courses and continually update product knowledge.
  • Comply with all provincial and federal laws, regulations and guidelines including Innovative Medicines Canada (IMC) Code of Ethical Practices on interactions with Healthcare Professionals as well as complying with all Ipsen’s standards and policies relating to all job activities.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Report any potential adverse events/safety information or products complaints for Ipsen products to the Medical Information and Pharmacovigilance department, per company requirements.
