The Opportunity
We are seeking an Accountant to join our dynamic team in Melbourne. In this national role, you will be involved in the planning, organization, and coordination of financial and accounting activities, maintaining relationships with stakeholders and providing comprehensive management reporting.
Your primary objective will be to ensure the delivery world class accounting, reporting, and financial support to key internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assisting with cost recharges to each our regions, including payroll recharges.
  • Analysis of monthly overhead costs incurred by ACCIONA Construction national and review of any outliers to ensure an accurate view of performance within the current month
  • Assisting in third advance forecasting, numbers for year-end based on figures over the past 10-months of the year.
  • Reconciliation of accounts.
  • Identify areas of improvement, streamlining month-end processes within the department to optimise utilisation of resources within the team.
  • Responsible for cash reporting and forecasting to treasury, ensuring results are communicated to the Headquarters in Madrid.
  • Ensure intercompany accounts are matched against related parties and that both receivable and payable balances are up to date with receipts and payments.
  • Responsible for cost allocation for any overhead expenditure.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Degree qualified in accounting and/or Finance. CPA /CA qualified ideally.
  • Proven Accounting experience gained in the construction sector ideally.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Experience in multi-national organisations, specifically Spanish organisations
