Purpose
In the role of Accountant – Hospitality, you will be an essential member of our dynamic shared services team, playing a key role in daily accounting and reporting responsibilities for a cluster of properties within the Accor Apartments & Realty portfolio.

The Role

  • Primarily Monday to Friday, with occasional hours outside of regular schedule, compensated with days off in lieu
  • Potential for flexible working arrangements following completion of a successful induction period
  • Work as part of a collective team to provide shared service finance support to a number of hotels
  • This position is ideal for a highly competent assistant accountant seeking to advance their career

Primary Responsibilities

  • Providing properties with finance related support including preparing P&L, conducting property AR review, reconciling banking and review and align property policy and procedure against trust compliance.
  • Preparing end of month reports
  • Preparing bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations for the relevant entities where properties are reporting under.
  • Preparing bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations for any additional entities as required.
  • Ensuring the asset register is maintained and kept up to date.
  • Ensuring accuracy of BAS reporting.
  • Preparing a variety of invoices and ensuring timely collectability.
  • Ad-hoc other admin duties.
  • Assisting the Finance Manager and other accountants as required.

Skills and Experience

  • A relevant tertiary qualification, whilst pursuing a CA/CPA is an advantage
  • Sound understanding of accounting principals
  • Experience in Receptionist, Hotel Guest Service Agent, or Night Auditor will provide you with transferable skills which are an advantage.
  • Highly organised with a key eye for detail and numbers
  • Proven ability to manage assigned tasks in a faced paced environment
  • Ability to adapt to new systems (knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains desirable)
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills
