POSITION SUMMARY:

Northbrook Insurance is hiring a Internal Accountant & Administration. The successful incumbent will be responsible in servicing the client with their insurance needs from the moment they call and inquire to binding coverage accurately and professionally.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 years in a full cycle accounting role
  • Strong written, oral communication and presentation skills
  • Client development/relationship management experience
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • A self-starter wanting to grow with the organization
  • Proficient skills in Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Willingness to learn and be proficient in Epic
  • Payroll experience is required (min. 2 years)
  • Accounting diploma or degree required
  • Experience with intercompany transactions
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP
  • Experience with an Epic system

    Pay: From $40,000.00 per year

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Concord, ON L4K 4E

Responsibilities:

  • Process of bi-weekly employee pay for all entities (CAD)
  • Prepare quarterly WCB and EHT calculations and filing requirements
  • Review & manage annual T4 corrections and processing
  • Review and process all financial transactions on a timely basis, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with policies and procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Calculate & Record Sales Commissions
  • Receiving, recording and depositing customer payments
  • Manage Accounts Receivable for all overdue accounts
  • Follow up with customers as required to ensure timely collections
  • Review & verification of monthly lead sheets as relates to payroll or accounts receivable
  • Providing credit information & references to vendors
  • Assist in Invoicing of Customers
  • Review & verification of monthly lead sheets
  • Provide General Ledger analysis and reconciliation as required
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls
  • Provide various accounting related assistance to other departments as required
  • Prepare and assist with year end non- consolidated and consolidated review engagement financial statements, including preparing supporting documents and working papers
  • Complete month end closing procedures on assigned financial statement items
  • Other related duties as required
