Description:

DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Controller the Accountant is an integral part of the ALCO team. This position primarily manages financial transactions, reconciles accounts and provides support and backup to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll Administrators.

REQUIREMENTS:

· General knowledge of A/R, A/P, GL structure, and payroll procedures
· Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ASPE
· Accounting for a manufacturing environment is considered an asset
· Accounting/Finance Diploma or Degree is preferred
· Minimum of 2 year of full-cycle accounting experience
· Supervisory Skills would be considered an asset
· Experience with Syteline (CSI) or other large scale ERP system would be considered an asset
· Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with an ability to multi-task and set priorities to meet deadlines
· Ability to Multi Task
· Strong computer skills
· Strong oral & written communication skills
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
· Attention to detail is a must

Responsibilities:

· Preparation of monthly account reconciliations
· Monthly Revenue and Work-in-Process worksheet compilation
· Preparation of GST, PST and WCB returns
· Perform project closeouts and provide performance analysis and other management reporting
· Project materials costing administration
· Preparation of documents for international shipments
· Banking and other journal postings
· Provide assistance in covering vacations or other types of leave for accounting staff
· Assistance with interim, year end, GST or other audits as required
· Make recommendations for improved process and efficiency
· Reconciliation and data entry of payroll timesheets transactions
· Other tasks as assigned
