Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations specific to a building contracting environment, including project cost tracking, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
- Construction Project Accounting: Manage financial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, cost control, and variance analysis. Ensure accurate allocation of costs to various projects and monitor project profitability.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize QuickBooks and Sage to maintain accurate financial records and generate detailed reports specific to construction projects. Ensure compliance with UAE/GCC construction accounting standards.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and project-specific reports. Provide insights on cost efficiency, cash flow, and profitability to senior management.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of project and company-wide budgets and forecasts. Monitor financial performance against budgets and identify areas for improvement.
- Audit and Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors during project and company audits. Ensure all financial documentation complies with UAE/GCC regulations, including VAT and other statutory requirements.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow for ongoing construction projects, ensuring that sufficient funds are available for material procurement, subcontractor payments, and other operational needs
- Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in the construction or contracting industry within the UAE or GCC region.Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CMA (Certified Management Accountant) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification is required.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, and other construction accounting software.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of UAE/GCC construction accounting principles, project cost accounting, VAT regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Skills: Strong analytical abilities, excellent communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability: Immediate.
