Accountant / Buchhalter (d/f/m) in Frankfurt, Germany

Are you a team player with a passion for numbers? We’re looking for a motivated and self-organized Finance & Accounting Accountant (d/f/m) who thrives in a fast-paced, international environment and will be responsible for the balance sheet and profit & loss for Germany as well as supporting Europe-wide improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, payments, and manage outstanding receivables with customers and vendors
  • Manage General Ledger (GL) accounting – Ensure accurate and timely posting of journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing processes
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with German tax regulations, including VAT reporting and corporate tax filings
  • Audits: Coordinate with auditors and prepare required documentation for internal and external audits
  • Support process improvements – Identify opportunities for improving accounting processes and systems, ensuring efficiency and compliance with local regulations
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams across multiple locations, providing financial insights and guidance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Fluency in German and English (written and spoken)
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably with knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and IFRS
  • Familiarity with German tax laws and VAT reporting requirements
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software and Excel
  • Experience working in multinational environments is a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently or as part of a team
