CCLI is looking for a full time Accountant with budget preparation experience to support our mission on Long Island. By joining our team, you will share in the joy of providing “care with dignity and life with hope.”

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience with budget preparation, preferred.
  • 1-2 years’ experience supervising or leading a team a plus.
  • Non-profit experience working with county or private funding sources a plus.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Suite.
    Schedule: full time – 35 hours per week – 9 am – 5 pm
    Rate of Pay: $60,000 per year
    This rate of pay serves as a good faith estimate. Actual pay is based on a number of factors which may include a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and work location. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation, such as the value of benefits, which may be applicable to this position

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and oversee assigned budgets working alongside Program Directors, including but not limited to reviewing budget variances, preparing budget modifications, budget and contract compliance.
  • Supervise bookkeeping staff providing guidance and oversight to ensure financial transactions are processed and reflected accurately.
  • Prepare and/or review monthly claims submission to funder, analyzing disallowances, monitoring Accounts Receivables relating to submitted claims and resubmitting for payments as needed.
  • Communicate with funding authorities and internal program management regarding budgets and contract compliance.
  • Review program vouchers and cash receipts, and approve for processing.
  • Prepare program month-end closings and financial statements ensuring accuracy of journal entries and month-end account analysis.
  • Coordinate six month and year end general ledger account analysis for programs assigned.
  • Coordinate other periodic reports for programs as required including completing financial information for audits when necessary.
