Description:

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in New York. This role is in the cosmetics industry and will be carried out remotely. As an Entry Level Accountant, you will be expected to integrate into our existing team and support us with various accounting tasks such as processing and entering journal entries, reconciling bank transactions, and participating in the month-end closing process.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and enter journal entries in an accurate and timely manner
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure financial results are accurate and timely
  • Assist in the month-end closing process, including preparing and posting journal entries
  • Perform bank transactions reconciliation to ensure accuracy
  • Participate in account reconciliations to ensure all financial data is accurate
  • Support senior accountants during the first few weeks and conduct account reconciliation subsequently
  • Assist with pulling audit support as needed
  • Utilize SAP software and Excel, especially pivot tables, for various accounting tasks
  • Integrate seamlessly into the existing team, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Possess knowledge and experience in Account Reconciliation
  • Proficient in managing Journal Entries
  • Skilled in performing Month End Close activities
  • Experience with SAP software is mandatory
  • Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations
  • Familiarity with Audit procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Must have a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
